From Nashville to Pakistan….

For the last several months this beautiful, beleaguered country has been on and off of our calendar – in response to an impassioned request from local Christian leaders, On the Go Ministries had been planning several training events and small outreaches in the cities of Karachi and Hyderabad, and our entire team was thrilled at the prospect of reaching the people of Pakistan with the love of Jesus.

And then we were hit with some deeply discouraging news;  due to dangerously high levels of unrest, we wouldn’t be permitted to enter the country without completely compromising our ability to stand with our Pakistani brothers and sisters.  We were at an impasse.

And the event was removed from our calendar…

Until several weeks ago, when someone came up with an ingenious solution…  With the use of some clever technology we’ve found a way to connect, and we are now scheduled to host several events NEXT WEEK – hundreds of courageous Christians will gather in two major Pakistani cities for training, personal connection, and encouragement, and we can’t wait to share with them.

Due to security concerns and for the protection of our brothers and sisters in Pakistan, we can’t give exact details, but we invite you – and ASK you – to pray specifically for this mission.

We’ve included a brief note from On the Go Senior Evangelist Keith Cook about the outreach, followed by an INCREDIBLE true story of mind-blowing courage from our last trip to the Middle East – thank you for your love and prayer, friends, and God bless you!

We can not believe our Pakistan mission is finally here. After months of prayer and planning, our Outreach Training School is about to start. — It has not been easy and we have had to be very creative and bold to take our evangelism training and methods into this area. The last time we were in Pakistan they pleaded with us to train them how to be more affective evangelists. We felt a special bond and commitment to help them “do the work of the evangelist.” — Due to security concerns and with regard to those gathered in Pakistan, we can not give you exact details, but we do want to ask you to pray specifically for this mission. — We can tell you that within the next week we will have 200+ Christian leaders gathered in Karachi and 200+ in Hyderabad to learn how to share the Gospel one on one, how to followup new believers, prayer in evangelism, how to live by faith, how to hear from God, creative evangelism methods, and being a Godly leader. We will be providing room and board for each of them as they participate. — This outreach has been a collaborative effort. With On The Go directing the mission, Luis Palau’s Next Generation Alliance, Lifelight Global, Masy Ministries, and White Ribbon Day are all joining together to make this outreach a reality. — You are in always in our prayers and on our hearts! God bless, Keith

 Four Bullets in Bethlehem:

“When the people in my city learned that I was a Palestinian who was a Christian and also believed in God’s plan for the Jewish people, many people became very angry…”

A few of the small crowd of Americans seated in the large, white-tiled meeting room in the West Bank shifted in their chairs and the room went still.

“But God gives me strength, and I MUST proclaim the message of the new life that I have found in Jesus.”

“YES.” I said it softly, almost unintentionally – under my breath but with real conviction.

“And since that time, our buildings have been bombed fourteen times…”

Now the stillness in the room was palpable.

“…and I have been shot four times.”

Wait, what?!?

“One of the bullets passed through my shoulder, just above my chest, but the Lord Jesus gave me strength, and I know that He will keep giving me strength to share this message until the day He returns.  And He is coming soon, my friends.”

I blinked and felt my eyes sting with tears, but I didn’t move a muscle – I was frozen under the weight of the moment.

No one else in the room seemed to be moving either.

For a few seconds I had the very real sense of being in the presence of greatness – I knew that the gentle, unforced courage of this Palestinian pastor was nothing short of miraculous.

This is the kind of strength that can only come from Jesus.

An hour later, we had the privilege of performing for the beautiful, kind people of his Bethlehem church.

We sang in Arabic.  They sang along, loudly and enthusiastically worshipping the God who had set them free.

And then the pastor spoke – in Arabic, and then English.  He shared about the importance of forgiving the people who have hurt us – about letting letting God cleanse our wounds and heal the broken places in our heart so He can fill us and empower us with His Holy Spirit.

And there was real, deep authority in his words.

The authority of someone who has forgiven his enemies for bullets, bombings, and years of persecution.

It was impossible to ignore.

Over the weekend in Bethlehem, we held several events in a local meeting hall.  Several artists performed, our pro BMX trick riders put on a show, and several powerful evangelists shared the life-transforming message of Jesus.

And the church invited people.

LOTS of people – their friends, their family, and their co-workers – many of them Palestinian Muslims.

Risking serious backlash and persecution, the gentle members of this pastor’s congregation invested into the lives of their neighbors, spent time to build real relationships, and invited them to the events.

Hundreds accepted the invitation to attend, and by the end of the weekend more than 200 people had made confirmed decisions to commit or re-commit their lives to Jesus.

Women in hijab and men in traditional keffiyeh scarves sat and listened, and throughout the room in every session, broken hearts and lives encountered healing, forgiveness, and new life in Jesus.

And this is why we do what we do.

Since 2012, by the grace of God, we’ve shared the love of Jesus in 28 nations and seen tens of thousands of people respond.   Since April of 2017, we’ve had the privilege of watching thousands respond to Jesus in twelve nations and territories on five continents – we’ve just finished up a packed few months of events in Israel, the West Bank, France, Belize and across the American South and Midwest.  Currently we are in Portland recording our next CD project, after which we’re scheduled to share the love of Jesus with the people of Pakistan, and then in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Thailand, and across the USA.
